In April 2006 Mount Moriah Development Corporation, Inc. and Selah Homes, Inc. formed Applegate Developments, LLC for the purpose of building quality and unique designed homes for both planned communities and build on your own lot.  In addition, Applegate Developments provides a residential and commercial remodeling division.  Jeff Kates and Kirk Tukua are both the founders of Applegate Developments, LLC.

 Kirk was literally raised in the construction business working with his father.  After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, Kirk pursued his love of building while working for large companies where he developed extensive knowledge and experience in building homes in country club communities, Celebration (a Walt Disney World community), and in the scenic mountains of North Georgia.  He prides himself with having over 18 years experience, but most of all the quality of construction he emphasizes to all his employees.

 Jeff Kates started Woods of Kennesaw Development Corporation in 1985 as a hometown project in Kennesaw, Georgia.  Woods of Kennesaw quickly developed into a full land development and was a very successful project for the area.  The family owned Christian business has a deep respect for heritage and values and is constantly working with new ideas and bold concepts.  Jeff brings to Applegate Developments over 20 years of building experience beyond compare and a deep commitment to the building and remodeling industry.

Both Jeff and Kirk have been involved in Christian missions in the United States and abroad in places which include Cuba, Africa, Romania, Holland and in Katrina hurricane relief and rebuilding efforts in some of the hardest hit areas in Mississippi. Both Jeff and Kirk enjoy the time they spend with their wives and children, which creates their happiest moments and memories.
